March 10, 2012- Harvest

Wow, it was an incredible day of outreach. Hannah and Janice accompanied us as we took a plethora of hot dogs, drinks, chips, and other items to bring to help the homeless in three distinct areas. The first area we went to the Mindietas. We dropped off some food and I got a message to the pastor of Southwayside Baptist Church to give them a ride to church. After that we took off to the second destination near the car wash again.

Before that, we went to Susan and dropped off some food. It was good to see her family, but she was still feeling ill. We prayed with her briefly. After that we headed off to Texas Car Wash. At the Texas Car Wash we met quite a few of the homeless guys. Unfortunately we heard of two deaths. The first of that is Chupita and the second is Ricky. We were pretty disheartened of hearing both deaths. Ricky was shot accidentally and Chupita also. Both of them being a result of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The third area, we harvested from sharing the gospel. The first, Janice was able to share with a girl named Lydia and she after hearing the gospel, and correcting false pretense was able to give her life over to Christ. The second, Shawn, heard of my story, and rededicated his life. This was great that we were able to minister on the streets and share openly the hope and life giving message of the gospel.

Overall this was a great success! I also went over to the MHMR facilty for our meeting and read through John 17 and 18. The whole group is back and I also heard they having been going to Ghambrell Baptist Church. I'm glad God is moving throughout this community. Praise the Lord for churches and people willing to work and serve together!!!
