July 5, 2011- Backpacks! Begin!

Got an email from Officer Munday to start distributing backpacks. Instead of focusing our efforts at school he decided Hillside Community Center would be preferable. This would give us opportunity to give Bibles, share the gospel, and provide love and care to these families.

Here's my email to all those interested in participating as well as the email correspondence between Officer Munday and me.

Hey ya’ll,

The time and date has been finalized. We will be distributing backpacks to Hillside Community Center. I attached the email with what they were asking for. Please confirm with me a couple things.

1) How many backpacks would you be able to donate?

2) Would you be able to fill the packs with supplies?

3) Would you be willing to be a place to be a storage location?

We will rendezvous on that day sometime around noon. Since it’s at 3pm it might be harder to get all of ya’ll off of work. Let me know if this is a problem. The total has been reduced to 150. This would be more manageable.

Good Morning,

Chris, I hope all is well. The date for the Back to School Giveaway will be August 12, 2011 at 3:00pm. The goal this year is to give 150 school aged children a back pack filled with school supplies. With the supplies we will stick with the basics: notebook paper, spirals, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, map pencils, erasers, scissors, and rulers. If you have any questions/concerns please let me know. Thank you in advance for all your help!!!
