October 1, 2011- First Meeting with MHMR Group

We started promptly at 2pm. It was a blessing to meet up with Robert (the house chaperone), Chong, and Charles. They each had their own story. Chong has a son living up in Kasas, Charles is a retired military officer, and Robert is a carpenter. Each of these individuals have dealt with many key issues in their lives and are currently living in a house of twelve to avoid homelessness. They each have jobs which help pay for their living expenses presently at that home.

We went over the first chapter of John. It was a joy to find that they LOVE to read. Chong kept reading and reading non-stop, while Charles, when reading, would share with me stories from different churches. He has this huge three page, vinyl, pieces of paper full of church notes. He says he's a devout Baptist. Charles, just has an eye to learn. He loves studying God's Word and has a penchant for singing hymns. I told him next week I'll bring my guitar and we'll sing some songs.

We finished talking about the importance of Christ and His baptism at the end. It was a reminder that He was to set an example not only upon His birth and life, but upon His death and resurrection. We prayed and I took off.

Until next week...

This is Charles.

This is Chong and Robert.

Charles LOVED reading and highlighting the Bible.
