January 14, 2012- New Year, New Reach!

This week starts the kickoff for the new year. We headed out at 11:15. We were accompanied by Joey and a few of his youth. He brought six from NFWBC. I was excited to know several from SWBTS as well such as the Abbie and Zach. We loaded up over 60 hot dogs, water, clothes, sandwiches, chips, and bananas. Thanks for all those who donated!

The Mindietas were our first stop. They are now behind over $1000 in water. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll ever get that fixed. We also dropped off alot of food for the family. They were able to use alot of these things for help. All the kids were beautiful, but I think there's alot of turmoil at home, not to mention the amount of garbage that's piling up in front of their yard and beside their front door.

Our second stop took us back to the Texas Car Wash and here we ran into 5-10 of the usual homeless guys. They were all so friendly and needed our help. We dropped off clothes and food. One of them was spiritual, but not a Christian. I got to pray with both of them. I also met a lady by the name of Mara Rosario. She's been there, helping these homeless guys back on their feet. She spends time with them and helps them get fed throughout the week. She seems very competent and enjoyed the fact that we were there helping out.

We then headed out to Susan's mother's house. There we found Susan, her mom, and Claudia. I'm glad they were all there. Susan had her dog which we watched for a few hours. Susan is dealing with many struggles still. We are praying for her continuously.

The final destination took us to the area across the Shamrock gas station. Here we dropped off food but also spoke with several familiar faces. Betty and several of the ladies we reach out there were present. Both Joey and us took two ladies back to their respective homes. I met an older gentlemen who was kind and cool. He was a native American, who loved to talk about his life as a young man. He didn't know much about Jesus, but we did get to pray together.

It was another wonderful outing. I rejoice at what God is doing each time.
Till next time...
